Hvac Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and perform necessary repairs.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Test HVAC systems for functionality and performance.
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Calibrate thermostats and ensure proper system functionality.
• Maintain accurate service records and reports.
• Communicate with clients to explain issues and recommend solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with local codes and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an HVAC technician or similar role.
• Valid HVAC certification (e.g., EPA Section 608 Certification).
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work with tools, meters, gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipment.
• Valid drivers license (for mobile positions).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with both residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with smart thermostats and modern HVAC technologies.

Working Conditions:

• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• May involve climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, or handling heavy equipment.
• On-call availability for emergency repairs (optional depending on employer).
