Job Description

As a Humanitarian Strategic Analyst for Save the Children International in Asia, you will be responsible for providing context-specific strategic analysis to support humanitarian decision-makers at all levels of the organization. Your role involves monitoring geopolitical events, identifying critical strategic issues, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather, curate, and convey strategic insights. You will play a key role in processes like risk assessments, preparedness planning, advocacy strategies, and policy-making to ensure effective responses to humanitarian challenges. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct and deliver context and foresight analysis to support humanitarian decision-makers. - Develop scenarios and support scenario-based planning for response decision-making. - Provide capacity building on risk identification, monitoring, and scenario building. - Support key internal processes with bespoke analysis to inform Emergency Preparedness Plans. - Contribute to integrating conflict-sensitive approaches in proposal writing, program implementation, and reporting. - Collaborate across teams to address contextual information gaps and integrate comprehensive data into strategic planning. - Contribute regional and national content to global reports, highlighting key trends and context-specific characteristics. - Support humanitarian advocacy initiatives by offering up-to-date insights and contextual analysis on crises. - Engage with external partners on specific contexts or themes to support decision-making. - Contribute to the IASC Early Warning and Risk Analysis Group. **Qualifications Required:** - Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis. - Strong ability to synthesize complex information clearly. - Understanding of geopolitical dynamics and humanitarian practices. - Experience in supporting risk assessments and providing foresight analysis. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to craft strategic recommendations for preparedness efforts. - Skills in collaboration, networking, and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders. - Experience working in humanitarian sector with crisis contexts and conflict-sensitive programming. - Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
