Role Overview: As a Safety Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel in the construction industry. You will conduct safety inspections, perform risk assessments, provide safety training, investigate incidents, develop emergency response plans, monitor compliance with regulations, and maintain accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. - Perform risk assessments for construction activities and implement control measures. - Organize and deliver safety training sessions for all site personnel. - Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. - Develop and implement emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure preparedness. - Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and training sessions. Qualifications & Skills: - Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably in the construction industry. - Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices in the construction industry. - Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Additional Information: In this role, you will work on-site at construction project locations with occasional extended hours depending on project timelines. You should be able to conduct site inspections and work in various weather conditions. Occasional travel between different project sites may be required.
