Job Summary:
Yashoda Hospital is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Histopathology Technician to join our Laboratory department. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in histopathology and proficiency in tissue processing, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation. You will work closely to ensure high-quality diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform tissue processing, embedding, section cutting (microtomy), and staining procedures.
2. Prepare routine H&E and special stains as required.
3. Ensure proper labelling and documentation of all samples and slides.
4. Operate and maintain histopathology lab equipment such as tissue processors and microtomes.
5. Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with lab protocols and biosafety standards.
6. Support grossing of small biopsies under supervision (if trained).
7. Coordinate with laboratory for timely sample processing and reporting.
8. Manage lab inventory and ensure adequate supply of reagents and consumables.
Requirements:
1. Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from a recognized institution.
2. 5-10 years of relevant experience in histopathology (hospital or diagnostic lab setting).
3. Good understanding of histological techniques and laboratory quality standards.
4. Ability to work independently and handle high sample volumes with precision.
5. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is an added advantage.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
