Quality Manager Animal & Poultry Feed Manufacturing

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reports to: Plant Head / Operations Manager

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

• Develop and enforce QA/QC procedures in line with BIS, FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP, and GMP guidelines.
• Monitor quality at every stage raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
• Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and coordinate third-party certifications.
• Manage product traceability and maintain documentation and records as per compliance requirements.

Key Laboratory Equipment to Handle:

• Kjeldahl Apparatus

  for nitrogen/protein estimation

• Soxhlet Extraction Unit

  for fat analysis

• Muffle Furnace

  – for ash content determination

• Hot Air Oven

  – for moisture content

• Weighing Balances (Analytical & Precision)

  – for accurate measurements

• Spectrophotometer

  – for chemical analysis

• pH Meter

  – for acidity/alkalinity testing

• Sieve Shaker

  – for particle size distribution analysis

• Crude Fiber Analyzer

  – for fiber estimation

• Grinding Mills & Sample Dividers

  – for sample preparation

• Moisture Meter

  – for on-site moisture testing

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in operating laboratory and feed processing equipment
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Knowledge of food safety management systems (ISO, HACCP)
• Effective leadership, documentation, and communication skills

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• B.Sc/M.Sc/ Feed Technology, Food Science, or related field
• 5–10 years of experience in QA/QC in the feed industry, with hands-on lab and equipment experience
• Experience in certification processes and regulatory audits
