Job Title: End User Computing VDI Architect/Consultant Years of Experience: 8+ Years Work Location: Bangalore Notice Period - Bellow 30days or Immediate Design and architect enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions using VMware Horizon, Citrix, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance virtual workspace environments to support business needs. Lead VDI strategy, integration, and automation efforts across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Provide technical guidance, performance optimization, and troubleshooting expertise for complex deployments. Collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps, security policies, and best practices for VDI ecosystems. Roles & Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions using VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) across global environments. Install, configure, and administer VMware Horizon View components (Connection Server, Security Server, and Composer Server) , Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, and Netscaler , and AVD session hosts and management components . Configure and provision automated desktop pools, Linked Clones, Machine Creation Services (MCS), and Windows 365 Cloud PCs for seamless end-user experiences. Optimize user profile management using VMware DEM, Citrix Profile Management, FSLogix, and Azure AD for performance and persistence. Monitor and tune the performance of Horizon, Citrix, and AVD environments using vCenter, Citrix Director, Citrix ADM, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics . Troubleshoot virtual desktop issues, including application virtualization challenges using VMware ThinApp, Citrix App Layering, and MSIX App Attach . Leverage PowerShell, Terraform, and automation tools to streamline VDI deployments, configurations, and issue resolution. Analyze system and event logs in Horizon Console, Citrix Studio, and Azure Virtual Desktop Insights to identify potential issues and optimize system performance. Conduct network performance analysis using Wireshark, Citrix HDX Monitor, and Azure Network Watcher to troubleshoot latency and connectivity issues. Perform software, driver, and patch updates using VMware vSphere Update Manager, Citrix PVS/MCS, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager to ensure compatibility and security. Conduct root cause analysis for recurring VDI performance and stability issues and define best practices for long-term optimization and reliability. Requirements: Requirements VDI Architect (Horizon, Citrix, AVD) Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience managing and troubleshooting VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments. Extensive knowledge of virtualization (VMware vSphere, Citrix Hypervisor, Azure Hyper-V), networking, and storage technologies. Strong expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting VMware ESXi/vSphere, Horizon View, Citrix Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Citrix PVS/MCS, and AVD session hosts. Proficiency in remote display protocols , including PCoIP, Blast Extreme, Citrix HDX, and RDP. PowerShell scripting experience for automation and troubleshooting across Horizon, Citrix, and AVD environments. Expertise in high availability (HA) architecture and load balancing , including VMware DRS clusters, Citrix Netscaler, and Azure Load Balancer. In-depth knowledge of installing, configuring, and administering VMware Horizon (Connection Server, Security Server, Unified Access Gateway), Citrix CVAD components, and AVD management tools. Strong understanding of network configuration, authentication (AD, ADFS, SAML, MFA), and integration with cloud identity providers. Hands-on experience troubleshooting virtual desktop issues, including performance bottlenecks, application delivery, and session management. Experience in application virtualization and layering , including VMware ThinApp, Citrix App Layering, and MSIX App Attach. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Certifications: VMware VCP (mandatory), Citrix CCP-V or CCA-V (preferred), Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or MCSA (advantageous).
