Developer Tools Engineer - Agent IDE

Role Overview

As a Developer Tools Engineer, you will be at the forefront of enabling seamless developer experiences by building and refining our agent IDE platform. You will design and implement innovative SDKs, CLIs, and IDE extensions, empowering developers with robust debugging and observability features while enhancing every aspect of their workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Build SDKs, CLIs, and IDE extensions that form the agent IDE.
• Implement time-travel debugging capabilities, enabling developers to replay and inspect agent runs.
• Develop evaluation frameworks that capture performance metrics and regression scenarios for agents.
• Design and implement observability and telemetry pipelines to expose and diagnose invisible agent failures.
• Optimize authoring workflows with context-aware suggestions, auto-optimization loops, and dynamic evaluation feedback.
• Enhance developer ergonomics ensuring every command, trace, and error reduces friction for a superior debugging experience.

• Proven track record in building devtools, SDKs, or frameworks where user adoption is the key indicator of success.
• Expertise in capturing, visualizing, and debugging failures in complex systems.
• Ability to transform agent chaos into structured, traceable workflows.
• Experience building SDKs, frameworks, or open source devtools; familiarity with developer-first SaaS or observability tooling is a big plus.
