Hiring For Design Engineer - Solid Edge Lennox Chennai

Role & responsibilities

As a Design Engineer in the Mechanical team at Lennox India Technology Centre, you will be responsible for Design of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning products. This role involves working closely with Product Engineers, Product Management & Cross-functional teams, from ideas/concepts to translating them into products, ensuring compliance to Efficiency, Safety and Environmental regulations.

• Must be responsible for Designs of Refrigeration and Air conditioning products considering Cost, Manufacturability, Serviceability, Regulatory Compliance, CODE requirements & safety.
• Work closely with Cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Marketing, Sourcing, Testing...Etc.) to move products from design to manufacturing.
• Participate in DFMEA, PPAPs, DFMA & RCFA as required.
• Review of 2D/3D designs to ensure compliance to standards and best practices.
• Lead and coordinate design reviews, ensuring approvals from all relevant cross-functional teams.
• Develop concept designs related to sheet metal and plastics using advanced design methodologies and techniques.
• Perform advanced detailing, redrawing, lettering, and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies, and engineering change orders.
• Contributes design modifications to improve the quality and function of the product.
• Ensures that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style.
• This role demands a high degree of flexibility and the ability to drive design activities with limited supervision.

Qualification

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expert knowledge of SolarEdge/Teamcenter software techniques and tools, experience in sheet metal and tubing manufacturing (tooling and fixtures)
• Experience in PLM (SAP, Teamcenter..)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Refrigeration knowledge is a plus.
