We are seeking an experienced Oracle and DB2 Database Administrator with over 10 years of proven expertise in managing, securing, tuning, and maintaining enterprise-grade database environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in both Oracle and IBM DB2 platforms, with a strong focus on performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery strategies, and production support in mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities: Primary SKill - Oracle Administer and support Oracle (versions 11g/12c/19c) and IBM DB2 LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) and/or z/OS environments. Plan, implement, and maintain database architectures to ensure optimal performance, high availability, and disaster recovery readiness. Perform database tuning, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning. Manage database security, roles, and permissions in compliance with organization policies. Implement robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Oracle) and DB2 native tools. Troubleshoot complex issues, including lock contention, performance degradation, and application-database integration challenges. Support database patching, upgrades, and migration projects across environments (on-prem/cloud). Work with developers and application teams to optimize SQL queries and database procedures. Configure and maintain high availability solutions like Oracle Data Guard, RAC, DB2 HADR, and/or Q-Replication. Monitor database health using tools like OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), Nagios, or equivalent. Create and maintain documentation for standard procedures, database environments, and architecture diagrams. Required Skills and Qualifications: 6+ years of experience as a DBA with Oracle and DB2 platforms. Strong expertise in: Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN. DB2 LUW/zOS administration, HADR, backup/restore. Experience with performance tuning and SQL optimization techniques. Proficient in writing Shell/Perl/Python scripts for automation. Solid understanding of database security and compliance requirements (GDPR, SOX, etc.). Experience with tools such as OEM, Toad, DBArtisan, Quest Spotlight, or similar. Knowledge of cloud database offerings (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.) is a plus. Excellent communication, documentation, and incident handling skills. Preferred Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) DBA IBM Certified Database Administrator – DB2 ITIL Foundation (optional)
