This role involves a blend of development and production support responsibilities, with a strong focus on designing and delivering high-performance ETL solutions using Ab Initio. You are a seasoned professional with over four years of experience in Ab Initio development, having led or contributed significantly to at least two core development projects. You possess deep technical expertise in data analysis, database design, and ETL architecture. What you will do

• Lead design and architecture for Ab Initio development projects, from requirements gathering to performance tuning.
• Translate high-level ETL architecture into detailed low-level designs and code.
• Drive technical initiatives across the Ab Initio toolset including Conduct>IT, DQ Framework, PDL, and Metadata Management.
• Manage multiple projects, providing design direction and roadmaps.
• Develop, debug, and optimise Ab Initio graphs and Unix Shell scripts.
• Execute ETL scripts and manage environments across development, testing, and production.
• Create and manage project sandboxes and ensure defect-free deliverables.
• Conduct root cause analysis for data migration issues and implement code fixes.
• Provide data extracts from Siebel/BRM databases using Ab Initio.
• Monitor system health, perform housekeeping, and proactively support business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve service requests and fulfil SLA parameters.
• Ensure compliance with standard processes and practices.

What skills you need

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Ab Initio development and production support.
• Proven experience in at least two core development projects involving solution design and performance optimisation.
• Strong technical expertise in data analysis, database design, and ETL architecture.
• Proficiency in Ab Initio, Unix, Shell Scripting, and Oracle.
• Familiarity with EME project structures, versioning, and branching.
• Understanding of Ab Initio standards and best practices.
• Experience managing large-scale projects or leading smaller initiatives.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Data Migration/Patching.
• Familiarity with ticketing tools such as Remedy and ITIL processes.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and deliver results.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
