Job Description

As a Helpdesk Specialist, your role involves assessing, diagnosing, and resolving a wide variety of computer issues, both hardware and software related. You will be responsible for performing hardware repairs on PCs and laptops when necessary, as well as replacing parts as needed. Additionally, you will install lab-specific client and instrumental software, ensuring configuration parameters are applied to guarantee functionality for Biological Sciences staff. Your duties will also include reviewing and determining solutions to staff software needs and problems, assisting users with data backup, and facilitating migration to new hardware. It is essential to maintain accurate hardware asset information and provide end-user training in general computer use and specific software platforms. Your role may also involve researching new technologies, conducting end-user needs assessments for new technology, and supporting printers, multifunction devices, and various other peripherals. Key Responsibilities: - Assess, diagnose, and resolve a wide variety of computer issues (hardware and software). - Perform hardware repairs on PCs and laptops, replace parts as needed. - Install lab-specific client and instrumental software, apply configuration parameters. - Review and determine solutions to staff software needs and problems. - Assist users with data backup and migration to new hardware. - Maintain accurate hardware asset information. - Provide end-user training in general computer use and specific software platforms. - Research new technologies. - Conduct end-user needs assessments for new technology. - Support printers, multifunction devices, and various peripherals. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 48 months of experience supporting applications and troubleshooting system errors in person, via phone, and remotely. - Minimum of 48 months of experience troubleshooting and supporting Microsoft Windows XP and higher operating systems. - Minimum of 48 months of experience working with and supporting Microsoft Office Suite 2003 and higher. - Minimum of 36 months of experience writing scripts and modifying existing programs. - Minimum of 48 months of experience supporting and repairing printers and multifunction devices. - Minimum of 48 months of experience creating or updating system support and end-user documentation. - Minimum of 48 months of experience troubleshooting and supporting Citrix, Groupwise, VPN, and wireless networking. - Minimum of 48 months of experience working in a mid to high-level enterprise environment. - Minimum of 48 months of experience working in a team environment. - Minimum of 36 months of experience in creating and modifying Access databases.,
