Helmet Design Head

Job Objective To lead the design and development of advanced ballistic helmets that meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and comfort, ensuring MKU Limited remains a leader in the defense industry. Execution Support solution developers and CAD team in designing of ballistic helmets and accessories against customer requirements. (Tenders, RFIs, Internal development). Ensure all the helmet design team are loaded with projects and running all projects are running smoothly. Design review of Solution developers and CAD team. Review and approval of technical feasibility study documents for tender preparation and bid enquiry. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced materials and technologies. Conduct research and stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in helmet design. Manage the entire design process from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. Provide expert reviews on designing for manufacturability of Ballistic helmets. Solution development for Production problems related to manufacturing of helmets. Provide countermeasure and action plan for customer complaints and production issues. Demonstrate the helmets to customers and solve challenges faced by customers in MKU products. Work with sales team to ensure timely submission of all documents for tenders, RFIs or Business development. Report action plan to meet KPIs for Helmet design department. Coordination & Reporting Report project outcomes and/or risks to the Armor PE head as neededescalating issues as necessary based on project work plans. Prepare action plan for meeting Helmet design department KPIs. Coordination with subordinates for status tracking of each project. Coordination with Tech-Transfer team for smooth mass production of developed solution Regularly update senior management on project progress, challenges, and milestones. Development Training and development plan for subordinates. Share your experience and skills to add USP in current developed solution. Identify improvement points in current developed solution to improve the quality and reduce cost. Identification and development of skills needed in team to enhance the quality of solution developed. Attend conferences and seminars related to advancement in composites and polymers. Job Specifications Qualification Min. qualification required M.Tech/ B. Tech in Material Science / Composites Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering, Polymer engineering or Equivalent. Other desired qualifications Prior experience in Ballistic equipment designing such as Safety Armor, Helmets, Shields etc. Experience of handling a team of 10+ members Experience in Business development and Customer demonstrations Relevant Experience Min. no. of years of relevant experience required 12 to 15 years of overall experience, 8 years as a design lead Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge of ballistic materials, energy absorption composites. Knowledge of Ballistic testing standards NIJ, UL752, ASTM. Experience in protective armor end material fabrication. Knowledge of CAD designing for harnesses in helmets. Experience of working with design houses and external design consultants. Good knowledge of physical and mechanical properties of different materials used in safety equipment. MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Data Analysis. Cost estimation and project feasibility study Significant experience working in cross-functional teams to develop new products and technology in highly regulated environments
