Health & Nutrition Expert

Role Overview: You will join The Hans Foundation as a Health and Nutrition Expert for a 1-year contract basis (extendable) in the Programme Department, specifically for the MTC-Jharkhand project. Your role will be crucial in promoting health and well-being among marginalized communities, focusing on children, persons with disabilities, and women. As a supervisor, trainer, and counsellor, you will play a key role in providing expert advice, developing programs, and conducting research to enhance the health and nutrition of the community. Key Responsibilities: - Function as a supervisor, trainer, and counsellor for the staff and mothers/caregivers at the MTC. - Develop specific therapeutic diet plans for each child in consultation with the Medical Officer. - Monitor the preparation and distribution of feeds according to the diet charts, maintain records, and prepare reports. - Assess feeding problems in each child and provide individual counselling to mothers. - Conduct group counselling sessions for mothers and caregivers on topics like nutrition, malnutrition, hygiene, infant feeding practices, and more. - Provide counselling and demonstrate structured play therapy for psychosocial stimulation to engage children in play therapy daily. - Conduct group counselling for mothers of children in the health facility and outpatients department on designated days. - Perform any other related tasks assigned by the reporting manager. Qualifications & Skills: - Graduate/B.Sc. Nursing/PG in Psychology or Sociology. - Ability to travel 4-5 days per month in the coverage area. - Experience in nutrition counselling or public health preferred.,
