Headless WordPress Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced WordPress Plugin & Theme Developer who is proficient in building custom plugins and themes from scratch. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of the WordPress core, coding standards, and the latest development practices. You will work closely with our design and backend teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performance websites.

Key Responsibilities:

Plugin Development:

Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress plugins based on business requirements.

Extend or customize existing plugins (WooCommerce, ACF, etc.).

Ensure plugin compatibility with latest WordPress versions.

Follow WordPress coding standards and best practices for security and performance.

Integrate third-party APIs and services.

Theme Development:

Convert Figma/PSD/mockups into fully responsive custom WordPress themes.

Develop themes using modern practices (e.g., block-based development, Gutenberg).

Utilize and customize WordPress Template Hierarchy and Theme Customizer.

Implement Custom Post Types (CPT), taxonomies, and advanced meta fields (ACF).

Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.

Required Skills & Experience:

3+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress plugin and theme development.

Strong proficiency in:

PHP, MySQL

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery

WordPress APIs (Shortcode API, Settings API, REST API, Widgets API, etc.)

Deep understanding of:

WordPress Codex and coding standards.

Custom post types, taxonomies, and user roles.

Gutenberg blocks and block-based theme development.

Experience with tools like:

ACF, WooCommerce, WPML, etc.

Git version control.

Build tools (Webpack, Gulp, or npm/yarn for compiling assets).

Nice to Have:

Experience with headless WordPress (using REST or GraphQL).

Familiarity with WordPress multisite setup.

Knowledge of security best practices (e.g., sanitization, nonce validation).

Understanding of performance optimization (lazy loading, caching, etc.).

Experience using Composer or managing dependencies in large projects

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,271.74 - ₹45,221.31 per month
