Head of ORE - Water & Industrial Business Unit

As the Head of ORE - Water & Industrial Business Unit at Sulzer in Pune, India, you will be responsible for localizing resources currently used in European factories within ORE. This will involve maintaining regular contact with European factories to improve processes and facilitate localization, which may require occasional travel. You will also play a key role in production localization for pump assembly and stainless-steel manufacturing. Another important aspect of your role will be managing, coaching, and developing a high-performing ORE team to meet objectives and deliver best practices, added value, and continuous improvements. You will set departmental objectives and KPIs, regularly review and assess the performance of direct reports, and actively participate in the COSP process as an operation representative. Communication within the team and with other departments will be vital, as well as ensuring the effectiveness, maintenance, and accuracy of the department's IT systems. You will also be responsible for managing safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies, and optimizing costs. Additionally, preparing and monitoring the department's cost budget will be part of your responsibilities. To succeed in this role, you will need a minimum of 12+ years of experience in an international environment, with expertise in industrial products, product knowledge, manufacturing experience, operational processes, SAP ERP, quality behavior, lean practices, and supervisory experience. A Master's degree in mechanical engineering is required, and an MBA is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office, manufacturing and engineering processes, SAP systems, and LEAN principles is necessary. A structured independent working style, solution-oriented analytical thinking, and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
