Head - New Product Development

We at Accolade Electronics are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead our New Product Development as the Head of Department (HOD). In this role, you will be responsible for managing and providing strategic direction to the department, ensuring efficient operations, and successful project delivery within set timelines and budgets. Your key responsibilities will include driving innovation, fostering collaboration among team members, and mentoring a talented group of engineers and technicians. You will be required to forecast changes in market dynamics over the next 4-5 years, anticipate customer requirements based on market evolution, and identify areas for product development and enhancement. Conducting market scans, competition analysis, and aligning product development with organizational goals will be essential tasks to ensure future success. As the Head of Department, you will develop R&D strategies, plan and forecast budgets, supervise CAPEX and OPEX, and encourage innovation within the team. Regular reviews of RFQs and product design programs, resource allocation, and prioritization based on urgency will also be part of your responsibilities. Leading the entire New Product Development function, including Embedded Software Development, Mechanical Design, Hardware Design, Validation & Verification, and Product Testing, will require effective resource allocation to meet market demands. You will define and implement stage-gate processes, assess risks, and ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the development process. Team management will be a crucial aspect of the role, involving resolving customer complaints, recruitment, performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring team members. You will also be responsible for identifying and creating development opportunities for team members to enhance their technical knowledge. Desired soft skills for this role include strong leadership abilities, cross-functional teamwork, a sense of ownership and urgency, and a strong ethical compass. The ideal candidate should hold a B.E. / B.Tech. in Electronics or Electronics & Telecommunications with over 15 years of relevant experience in the Automotive Electronics industry.
