Hardware Engineering Manager

About the Role

Allegion India is seeking a highly motivated Hardware Engineering Manager VAVE to lead team for Mechanical & Electromechanical Products to deliver YOY savings to business. It includes strategizing workshops, idea generation for Pipeline building of VAVE projects

What you'll do

• Responsibilities would include Support cross functional teams with Component Engineering deliverable like Part Management, Risk Assessment, PPAP Reliability review, etc.
• Extended Hardware Design support to evaluate Alternate components for products and to establish Quote Schematics and Electrical Bill of Material (EBOM)
• Support on alternate components for Product Development needs, alternate sourcing, idea generation and workshop planning for Pipeline building.
• Perform Product Bill of Materials (BOMs) Risk and Cost Analysis for Cost, Product Lifecycle Risks, new/alternate cost-effective technologies.
• As part of VAVE, explore and assess cost effective alternate components and drive Ideation for implementation acceptance.

What we are looking for:

• Strong Technical expertise of all Standard & Advanced Electronic & Electro-Mechanical Components and working with Firmware teams
• Strong understanding of Component Life Cycle Status and related business impacts and risk mitigations
• Ability to understand Application requirements and suggest suitable Component solutions.
• Strong Analog and Digital Hardware Engineering background to understand the application and circuit needs.
• Ability to suggest better/optimized component solutions with a detailed Specification comparison study.
• Knowledge of broader Component Engineering process and Component Change Management process
• Thorough working experience of Component Engineering Tools like PDM, PLM
• Embedded HW design requirements understanding, Systems requirement decomposition, Firmware and interpretation skills
• Analog/Digital interfacing and Power supply design with hands on exposure
• Understanding of hardware product development life cycle
• Understanding product validation environment, DVPR, reliability, COPQ and able to map the design requirements as per the same
• Converting the product hardware architecture into full-fledge circuit design worthy of validation
• Review Alternate Components with actual application based on schematics and come up with feasibility study
• Study existing Schematic & Hardware requirement for optimizing Components and Component cost
• Value Assessment and Value Engineering (VAVE) Proficiency with prior work experience
• Ability to collaborate and interact with cross functional teams like Engineering, Purchasing, Supply-Chain, etc. to accomplish objectives.

Preferred Skills

Firmware understanding and VAVE experience with full product lifecycle knowledge

Knowledge of incubation till launch of Product

15-16 Years of Experience
