Hardware and Software Support Technician

As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for a range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's IT systems. Your key responsibilities will include: - Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware devices. - Installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting operating systems (Windows/macOS/Linux). - Providing support for software applications including MS Office, antivirus, and internal tools. - Diagnosing and resolving hardware issues such as RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard, and peripheral faults. - Assisting users with network connectivity issues (LAN/WiFi). - Performing regular system updates, patches, and backups. - Managing user accounts, permissions, and email configuration. - Maintaining inventory of IT equipment and accessories. - Providing remote and onsite technical support to employees. - Coordinating with vendors for warranty claims and hardware replacements. - Documenting issues, solutions, and maintenance activities. Qualifications required for this role include: - Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. - 1-3 years of experience in hardware and software support (freshers can also apply if skilled). - Strong knowledge of PC hardware components and troubleshooting. - Good understanding of operating systems and common software applications. - Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, switches). - Ability to diagnose system errors and technical problems independently. - Excellent communication and customer support skills. - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred qualifications for this role may include certifications such as A+, N+, MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent, experience with IT ticketing systems, and knowledge of cloud-based tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
