Handicraft & Home Decor Designer

Role & responsibilities

Design a range of handmade crafts and home decor items, incorporating unique cultural influences and traditional craftsmanship techniques.

• Collaborate with artisans and makers to bring designs to life, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences in the handicraft and home decor industry.
• Contribute to the curation of product collections and seasonal showcases on our platform.
• Provide guidance and support to artisans on product development and design refinement.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in designing handicrafts, home decor products, or related fields.
• The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of materials such as wood, fabrics, resin, MDF, etc., enabling them to effectively incorporate and design products within our range.
• Proficiency in CAD software, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator etc. will be an advantage.
• Strong artistic skills and a portfolio showcasing original designs and creative projects.
• Knowledge of traditional crafting techniques and materials, with a passion for preserving cultural heritage.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with artisans and team members.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online marketplaces is a plus.

Preferred candidate profile
