GSOC Operator

Job Summary:

The GO Center Alarm & Monitoring Analyst is responsible for the real-time monitoring, assessment, and escalation of security risks across global operations. The Analyst identifies and responds to security alarms, incidents, and suspicious activities that may impact physical and operational security. This role requires keen attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and proactive risk management skills to support the overall security posture of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Monitoring and Incident Response

• Continuously monitor security systems, alarm platforms, CCTV feeds, and access control systems to detect unusual activities, security breaches, and safety risks.
• Rapidly respond to alarm incidents, assess their severity, and coordinate with the appropriate teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Implement and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for incident response, including escalation protocols for high-severity events.

Risk Assessment and Analysis

• Analyze alarm patterns, environmental conditions, and threat intelligence to identify trends and potential security risks.
• Conduct preliminary investigations and assessments to determine the root cause and potential impact of incidents.
• Provide clear and concise incident analysis reports for internal stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making.

Communication and Coordination

• Communicate effectively with internal security teams, emergency response teams, and external agencies during critical incidents.
• Document and escalate critical incidents promptly, providing updates and following up to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
• Maintain a high level of situational awareness and provide real-time updates to senior management during active incidents.

Documentation and Reporting

• Log all incidents, responses, and resolutions in the incident management system with detailed accuracy for future reference.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on alarm incidents, security risks, and response times for leadership review.
• Participate in after-action reviews to improve future response strategies and support the continuous improvement of GSROC operations.

Continuous Improvement and Training

• Stay informed about current security threats, alarm technologies, and monitoring best practices.
• Contribute to the enhancement of alarm and monitoring processes and SOPs to strengthen the organizations security posture.
• Attend regular training and security drills, and actively participate in testing business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 13 years in a security operations center (SOC), global operations center (GOC), or equivalent security monitoring environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with alarm and monitoring platforms (e.g., Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone).
• Knowledge of physical security technologies and protocols (e.g., CCTV, access control, intrusion detection).
• Proficiency in incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Everbridge) and basic data analysis.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.

• Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to respond calmly and professionally during high-stress or emergency situations.
• Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality protocols in security monitoring.
