Description
As a Lead Engineer - Skid Development at our company in Mangalore, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, focusing on designing and constructing modular systems for various industries such as hydrogen, water treatment, and gas processing. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and developing modular skid systems encompassing piping, layout, structure, and instruments. You will be required to create P&IDs, 3D models, and fabrication drawings utilizing CAD tools. Collaboration with process, electrical, and control teams will be essential to ensure compatibility and functionality of the systems. Selecting suitable components like pumps, valves, filters, instrumentation, and structural materials based on process requirements and standards will be part of your role. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the designs adhere to international codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.12, Section VIII Div 1, API, ISO, CE, PED, among others. Overseeing fabrication, testing, and installation processes to guarantee quality and compliance with design specifications will be crucial. Additionally, you will liaise with vendors and suppliers for technical evaluation, cost analysis, and timely delivery. Managing project documentation, including material specifications, test plans, operating manuals, and compliance certificates, will be part of your daily tasks. You will also provide support for on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of skid systems as necessary. Guiding junior engineers and assisting the project team in planning and resource allocation will be expected from you. Continuous improvement initiatives such as DFX, VAVE, and feedback-based design refinements will be encouraged. To qualify for this role, you should have at least 4 years of experience in skid-based system design and engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling and piping design tools is essential. Practical experience with pressure vessels, piping layouts, and component integration is required. A strong understanding of industry codes and standards for process skids is also necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in hydrogen, oil & gas, water treatment, or chemical processing industries. Excellent communication skills, project coordination abilities, and cross-functional collaboration skills are highly valued for this position.
