Role Overview

The family is seeking a well-qualified, mature, and nurturing Governess to oversee the academic development, daily routine, and holistic upbringing of their 10-year-old son. The role requires a balance of education, discipline, emotional guidance, and etiquette.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the child’s academic progress in line with school curriculum

• Assist with homework, projects, exam preparation, and concept clarity

• Plan age-appropriate educational and developmental activities

• Encourage good study habits, time management, and discipline

• Support emotional development, confidence-building, and social skills

• Maintain structured daily routines including study, play, and rest

• Coordinate with parents and school teachers; provide regular progress updates

• Accompany the child to activities or classes when required

• Promote good manners, etiquette, and respectful behavior

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong academic foundation; ability to tutor core subjects independently

• Excellent spoken English (native or near-native preferred)

• Patient, calm, and child-focused personality

• Organized, disciplined, and proactive

• Ability to balance firmness with warmth

• Culturally sensitive and adaptable

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related field preferred

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Governess, Teacher, or Tutor (private household experience preferred)

• Experience working with children aged 8–12 years

• International exposure or experience in the Middle East is a plus
