Role Overview

GCP Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust data pipelines for structured and unstructured data (batch and real-time) on GCP.
  
• Build scalable datasets aligned with business requirements and analytics needs.
  
• Architect and implement end-to-end big data solutions.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  
• Work extensively with GCP services:

  Python, SQL, DataFlow, DataStream, CDC (Change Data Capture), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage

  .
• Use

  SAP SLT

  to replicate SAP tables into GCP environments.
• Develop and manage JSON-based messaging structures for application integrations.
  
• Implement

  DevOps & CI/CD practices

  (GitHub, Terraform) for automation, scalability, and reliability.
• Ensure

  data security and compliance

  by managing IAM roles, Policy Tags, and authorized views in BigQuery.
• Design and maintain ingestion pipelines using REST APIs.
  
• Monitor and optimize pipelines with effective logging, alerting, and troubleshooting.
  
• Continuously recommend and implement improvements to enhance

  data quality, reliability, and performance

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum

  5+ years of experience

  as a Data Engineer, with strong focus on

  Google Cloud Platform

  .
• At least

  1 year hands-on experience

  with core GCP tools (Python, SQL, DataFlow, DataStream, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage).
• Strong expertise in

  data ingestion, CDC techniques, real-time/batch processing, and orchestration

  .
• Experience with

  SAP SLT

  for replicating SAP data into GCP (preferred).
• Solid knowledge of

  BigQuery

  features: data partitioning, clustering, governance, and optimization.
• Working knowledge of

  CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (GitHub, Terraform)

  .
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
