Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Playback Platform team, youll play a critical role in designing, developing, and scaling the backend services that power playback for WBDs global streaming products. From content protection to playback optimization, your work will directly influence the way millions experience our platforms. Key Responsibilities Design and build robust, scalable backend services that power streaming and playback experiences. Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, architects, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions. Analyze and implement systems for video playback, content protection, and DRM integration. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture. Lead engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, documentation, and architectural decision-making. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development. Proven track record of delivering high-scale, fault-tolerant systems used by millions globally. Strong hands-on experience with Golang. Solid experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with TypeScript is a strong plus. Effective communicator with a collaborative and proactive approach. Nice to Have Background in video streaming technologies and Digital Rights Management (DRM). Exposure to other programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, Elixir, or Rust. Experience with GCP or multi-cloud environments.
