What Youll Do:

• Develop advanced state estimators using nonlinear EKFs, UKFs, and unconventional approaches such as variational integrators and sensor-agnostic inference techniques. You will work with minimal or unreliable GPS/IMU data and design around that constraint.
• Fuse data from accelerometers, magnetometers, pressure sensors, control surface feedback, and onboard peripherals into a coherent real-time state estimate for 6-DOF systems.
• Use Sci-ML for estimation instead of filters to compare design performance.
• Support hardware implementation by porting your algorithms to embedded systems and verifying them in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations.
• Document assumptions, derivations, and findings in tight, visually lean reports; present progress in weekly stand-ups and keep a living wiki maintained for knowledge transfer.
