Role summary : You will design and implement advanced state estimation pipelines using EKFs and beyondfusing multi-modal sensor and peripheral data to extract precise state estimates in constrained and GPS-denied environments. Your work will be tightly coupled with our control systems and embedded platforms, forming the core of our autonomous guidance stack. Qualifications: Anyone with a Bachelor&aposs, Master&aposs, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering(or a drop-out for all that matters) Experience : 0-3 years Location: On-site |Bengaluru Type: Full Time Engineer What Youll Do: Develop advanced state estimators using nonlinear EKFs, UKFs, and unconventional approaches such as variational integrators and sensor-agnostic inference techniques. You will work with minimal or unreliable GPS/IMU data and design around that constraint. Fuse data from accelerometers, magnetometers, pressure sensors, control surface feedback, and onboard peripherals into a coherent real-time state estimate for 6-DOF systems. Use Sci-ML for estimation instead of filters to compare design performance. Support hardware implementation by porting your algorithms to embedded systems and verifying them in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations. Document assumptions, derivations, and findings in tight, visually lean reports; present progress in weekly stand-ups and keep a living wiki maintained for knowledge transfer. Role summary: The role involves working with ARM based microcontrollers, writing efficient firmware in C/C++, implementing real-time task management with FreeRTOS, and designing custom PCBs for sensor and actuator integration. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys low-level hardware–software interfacing, can think critically about performance and reliability, and is eager to take ownership of end-to-end embedded development — from schematics and board design to firmware bring-up and system testing. Qualifications: Students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Type: Paid Internship Joining Date: Immediately Location: On-site | Bengaluru What you’ll do: Develop embedded firmware on bare metal with C/C++. Interface and integrate multi-modal sensors (IMUs, pressure sensors, GNSS receivers, and others) and actuation systems. Strong debugging skills across both firmware and hardware layers — able to trace and resolve issues that span embedded code, power systems, signal integrity, and component-level behavior. Experience with performance optimization, unit testing and using laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscope, voltmeters, multimeter, etc.). Design and implement low-level drivers for communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, PWM, DMA) with a focus on non-blocking, resource-efficient execution. Familiarity with the use of HALs, Structures and pointers and Makefile: Build automation tool for managing the build process. Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and bench validation to ensure robustness under real-world conditions. Collaborate on system-level integration, ensuring firmware, electronics, and mechanical subsystems interact seamlessly. Should you really join us?
