Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled GIS/Remote Sensing & Hydrology Analyst to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for acquiring, processing, and analyzing geospatial data to support engineering, hydrological, and environmental studies. The role involves working with satellite/drone imagery, GIS databases, and hydrological modeling tools to deliver insights for water resource management, infrastructure, and planning projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire, process, and analyze satellite imagery, drone data, aerial photographs, and LiDAR datasets.
  • Conduct hydrological and watershed studies using GIS and remote sensing inputs.
  • Perform spatial and temporal analysis for:
  • Rainfall-runoff modeling
  • Watershed delineation and drainage analysis
  • Flood risk mapping and inundation modeling
  • Groundwater potential and recharge zone mapping
  • Soil erosion & sediment yield studies
  • Generate DEM/DSM-based hydrological models and terrain analysis.
  • Integrate field survey data (DGPS, UAV, discharge, and water quality data) into GIS databases.
  • Develop and maintain hydrological GIS databases and metadata with quality standards.
  • Use hydrological modeling software (HEC-HMS, SWAT, MIKE SHE/11, or similar).
  • Prepare technical reports, thematic maps, and visualizations for hydrological and infrastructure projects.
  • Support civil, environmental, and infrastructure teams with hydrological and spatial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with standards (ISO, OGC, BIS, MoWR, or project-specific requirements).

Qualifications & Skills

Education:
Bachelor s or Master s in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Geography, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Technical Skills:
  • GIS Software: ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, Global Mapper.
  • Remote sensing data analysis (optical, radar, multispectral, hyperspectral).
  • Hydrological tools & models: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWAT, MIKE Hydro, MODFLOW.
  • Drone data processing: Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, DJI Terra.
  • Knowledge of spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL).
  • Programming (Python, R, MATLAB) for geospatial and hydrological modeling.
Preferred Experience:
  • 2 5 years of professional experience in GIS, remote sensing, and hydrology projects.
  • Strong exposure to flood studies, watershed management, and groundwater studies.
  • Experience in climate change impact studies, rainfall pattern analysis, and water resource planning.
  • Freshers with a strong academic/research background in hydrology & RS/GIS may also apply.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
