Carry out preliminary and detailed aerodynamic design activity using 1D, 2D design and analysis tools, and using both steady-state and unsteady CFD simulation.

Further develop our aero’ design and optimization toolkit, using coding and Machine Learning.

Additional Responsibilities (as plus):

Help define engine and rig compressor test programmes in support of new product development projects. Carry-out pre and post engine test analyses.

Use analysis tools and test data to predict Compressor Blade aero-mechanical vibration behaviour.

Provide support to fault finding and root cause investigation activity.

Qualification & Experience required:

Postgraduate in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Aerodynamics, CFD or a related technical discipline.

Experience within power, propulsion or aerospace engineering would be preferable.

Knowledge of axial compressor design principles and operation.

Some experience in use of CFD tools to carry out meshing and solving.

Experience in use of Coding eg. Python, Git or other.
