Job Description

Role Overview: As a Gas Turbine - Combustion Aero CFD Engineer (Experienced) at Siemens Energy, your role will be challenging and future-oriented. You will be responsible for investigating ways to increase Gas turbine fuel flexibility capability, particularly focusing on the usage of green fuels such as hydrogen and hydrogen enriched fuels. Your main tasks will involve improving combustion prediction of these fuels, performing model calibration to measurement data, and enhancing knowledge for studying the performance of numerical simulations for combustion. Key Responsibilities: - Investigate ways to increase Gas turbine fuel flexibility capability, especially focusing on green fuels like hydrogen - Improve combustion prediction of hydrogen enriched fuels and perform model calibration to measurement data - Enhance knowledge for studying the performance of numerical simulations of hydrogen enriched and other green liquid fuels for combustion - Support existing fleet by applying the theory developed and understanding engine behaviors Qualifications Required: - Mechanical engineer with more than 8 years of experience in design and product development of turbomachinery, specifically Gas turbine and Steam turbine components - Graduate/post graduate degree holder, preferably Ph.D., in computational fluid dynamic with advanced courses in acoustic - Good knowledge of mass flow balance, total pressure, energy fluxes heat transfer, and Chemical reaction progress inside the Combustion system - Working knowledge and experience of STAR CCM+ software for investigating results and proposing system improvements - Good understanding of treatment of 1-D acoustic and implementation in commercial software - Interested in Gas turbines, combustion, and numerical simulations field - Strong interpersonal skills, team player, quick learner, imaginative, innovative, and ability to adapt quickly and effectively - Good communication skills in English both verbal and written Additional Details: Siemens Energy offers a dynamic and global product development & service environment where individuals are valued for their caring, agile, respectful, and accountable nature.
