Gas pipe laying technician

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans to determine pipe routes and specifications and laying according to the standards
• Digging trenches for pipe laying using hand tools or machinery.
• Assembling, welding, and joining gas pipes, fittings, and valves.
• Connecting homes and businesses to the gas network.
• Installing and maintaining gas meters and regulators.
• Installing gas appliances and their venting systems.
• Performing routine inspections of gas pipelines to identify potential issues.
• Identifying and repairing leaks or damage in gas lines.
• Conducting pressure tests to ensure pipeline integrity.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with gas appliances and systems.
• Performing pigging operations to clean and inspect pipelines.
• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and codes.
• Responding to emergency situations, such as gas leaks, and taking appropriate action.
