Job Description

Role & responsibilities

A Galvanising Plant Manager key duties include supervising the entire hot-dip galvanising

process, managing chemical & maintenance and ensuring compliance with environmental and

safety regulations. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of the galvanising

process and problem solving skills.

Key Job Responsibilities.

1) Supervise all aspects of the galvanising process, from receiving raw materials to handing over

finished products.

2) Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet targets.

3) Oversee daily operations and manage staff across shifts.

4) Ensure adherence to quality standards such as ASTM specifications.

5) Oversee chemical processes, including monitoring and maintaining acid, flux and galvanizing

kettle parameters.

6) Conduct quality checks and inspections of both incoming materials and finished products.

7) Implement and enforce the facilitys safety programs and protocols.

8) Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

9) Manage hazardous waste disposal and maintain required documentation.

10) Managing the ETP plant working and maintain the records for the same.

11) Oversee the maintenance and repair of critical equipment, including furnaces, kettles, cranes &

hoists.

12) Lead, train & mentor the plant team to ensure best practices are followed.

13) Manage labour relations and manpower handling.

14) Maintain 5S activities on the shop floor.

Skills

1) Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills.

2) Technical experience with the hot-dip galvanising process, including hazardous materials and high

temperature processes.

3) Experience in managing industrial plants and leading large teams.

4) Proficiency in quality assurance, process improvement and safety management.

Qualifications & Experience

1) A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Chemical engineering

2) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 to 6 years’ experience in managing GI plant.

3) A minimum of 5 to 10 years of overall experience in galvanizing or a related metal finishing

industry.

4) Must have extensive knowledge of the galvanizing processes, surface preparation, Chemical

processes, including its equipment, safety protocols and quality control techniques.

5) Must have knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
