Position Title: Gaffer / Chief Lighting Technician

Location: Ram Mandir

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibility

• To design, plan, and implement lighting setups that support the visual style and mood decided by the DoP.

Lighting Execution

• Selects the right lights, fixtures, gels, diffusers, flags, and modifiers
• Controls intensity, direction, color, and quality of light
• Ensures lighting continuity across shots

Technical & Power Management

• Plans and manages power distribution, generators, cabling, and load balancing
• Ensures all electrical setups are safe and compliant
• Troubleshoots lighting or power issues quickly on set

Collaboration

• Works closely with:
• Director of Photography
• Camera department
• Art department
• Adjusts lighting as per camera movements, lenses, and framing

Pre-Production Work

• Participates in tech scouts and recces
• Helps create lighting plots
• Estimates equipment needs and coordinates rentals

On-Set Problem Solving

• Adapts lighting for changing conditions (weather, locations, time constraints)
• Provides quick solutions without affecting the shooting schedule

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of lighting equipment & electrical systems
• Understanding of cinematography and visual storytelling
• Leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work long hours under pressure
• 3 years of experience in professional film/ production House (e.g. Red Chillies, Yash Raj Films (YRF), Dharma Productions, Maddock Films
• Prior experience as Best Boy or Senior Lighting Technician

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
