Functional Consultant

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Functional Consultant to join our Implementation & Delivery team. This role is ideal for professionals with an MBA or PGP in Project Management who possess strong functional expertise in construction, infrastructure, or real estate project management, coupled with a passion for technology-driven transformation. As a Senior Functional Consultant, you will act as a strategic liaison between clients and technical teams, leading the implementation and optimization of the Exto Project Management Information System (PMIS). You will play a key role in understanding client business processes, advising on best practices, and ensuring successful delivery of scalable digital solutions. This position requires a blend of project management acumen, client advisory skills, and functional leadership to drive enterprise-level implementations and foster long-term client relationships.

Role & responsibilities

• Client Engagement & Business Analysis

Lead discovery sessions with client leadership teams to understand business objectives, operational workflows, and pain points within construction and project management domains.

Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and PMIS capabilities.

• Solution Design & Implementation

Oversee configuration, customization, and deployment of Exto PMIS in line with client-specific requirements.

Ensure end-to-end solution quality through close collaboration with technical, QA, and support teams.

Recommend process improvements, system enhancements, and best practices for project management efficiency.

• Project Delivery Leadership

Serve as the functional lead on multiple concurrent implementation projects.

Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications, ensuring smooth delivery within scope and budget.

Support user acceptance testing (UAT), lead client workshops, and deliver training sessions for end users.

• Client Relationship Management & Advisory

Maintain ongoing engagement with senior stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership value.

• Governance & Reporting

Maintain comprehensive documentation including requirements, change requests, and progress reports.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

• .A Bachelors degree in

  Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline

  .

• MBA or PGP in Project Management

  will be an advantage.

Experience:

• 1 - 6 years of experience

  in functional consulting, business analysis, or project management within the

  construction, infrastructure, or real estate

  sectors.
• Proven track record in implementing or managing

  PMIS, ERP, or enterprise project management solutions

  .
• Prior experience working with

  government clients

  will be an added advantage

Technical Competencies:

• Strong understanding of

  project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, or PRINCE2)

  and construction project lifecycles.
• Hands-on experience in

  functional design, requirement analysis, and system configuration

• Familiarity with enterprise-grade solutions and system integration concepts.
