Job Title: Front Office Receptionist – Fashion Design Institute.

The Fashion Design Institute is seeking a polished, organized, and welcoming Front Office Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, visitors, and industry partners. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills in a creative academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet students, faculty, visitors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and emails
• Manage visitor check-in procedures and ensure campus security protocols are followed
• Provide general information about programs, schedules, and campus services
• Maintain the reception area to reflect a professional and creative environment
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries (including materials and samples)
• Schedule appointments and coordinate calendars for staff or administrators
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, copying, and document preparation
• Exercise discretion and confidentiality when handling student records, private conversations, and institutional information
• Coordinate with academic and administrative departments to support daily operations
• Assist with special events, open houses, and student-related activities as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education a plus
• Previous receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for an academic setting
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion at all times
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (email, scheduling systems, word processing)
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Interest in fashion, design, or creative industries is an asset

Work Environment
