French Tutor ( PhD Research)

About the Role

Our company is seeking a highly skilled French tutor to assist a PhD student in developing strong reading comprehension skills. The goal is to help the student engage with original French-language texts — many of which have no English translation — and apply them effectively in academic research.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach advanced French reading and comprehension strategies.
• Explain nuanced meanings and cultural context that may be lost in translation.
• Guide the student through academic texts, articles, and research material.
• Recommend practice exercises and resources for independent learning

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in French (native speaker or equivalent).
• Prior experience teaching advanced or academic-level French.
• Ability to adapt lessons to focus on research-related texts and academic vocabulary.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility with scheduling.

Job Type: Part-time
