Job Description

As a Tax Associate at our company, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch tax services to a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, high-income business clients, and partnership firms. Your responsibilities will encompass tax preparation and compliance, tax planning and advisory, client management, research and analysis, audit support, documentation and record-keeping, process improvement, and professional development. - **Tax Preparation and Compliance:** You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex federal and state tax returns for partnerships (Form 1065) and individual returns for partners (Form 1040), including the preparation of K-1s, K-2s, and K-3s. - **Tax Planning and Advisory:** Your role will involve assisting with tax planning strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial positions. - **Client Management:** Directly engage with clients to collect necessary financial documents, address inquiries, and offer guidance on tax matters. - **Research and Analysis:** Conduct in-depth tax research on intricate issues, interpret tax laws, and provide accurate advice to clients and senior staff. - **Audit Support:** Support in preparing for and representing clients during federal, state, and local tax audits. - **Documentation and Record-Keeping:** Maintain well-organized and accurate client files and workpapers to ensure completeness and compliance with firm and regulatory standards. - **Process Improvement:** Identify and recommend enhancements to tax preparation workflows and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. - **Professional Development:** Stay abreast of changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends by engaging in professional development courses and training sessions. - **Education:** A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. A Master's degree in Taxation or a J.D. with a focus on tax law is considered advantageous. - **Experience:** You should possess 3-5 years of experience in US tax preparation, with a significant emphasis on Form 1065 for partnership entities. - **Skills:** - Proficiency in tax preparation software such as GoSystem, CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem fx. - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. - Superior attention to detail and organizational abilities. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective client and team interaction. - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - **Certifications:** Ideally, you should hold a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification or be progressing towards CPA licensure. Possession of an Enrolled Agent (EA) license is also advantageous. This full-time position requires your presence in-person at the work location.,
