Job Description

As a Fleet Procurement Officer at V, your primary role is to ensure timely supply of authorized stores, spares, and other products to vessels within budget and approved costs, while adhering to Company Operating Procedures and Marine Policies. Your support to the Fleet superintendent will be crucial in overseeing all fleet operations. Key Responsibilities: - Prioritize safety and environmental focus in all fleet operations, both in the Fleet Cell and on board vessels. - Maintain a customer-centric approach, always keeping the best interest of the customer at the forefront. - Create office requisitions as per instructions from Fleet Superintendents or agreed annual commitments. - Process vessel and office requisitions through the company system following set controls. - Obtain, present, and verify quotations from approved suppliers in line with company policy. - Work with Fleet Cell Liaison Managers to identify and promote available solutions within the Fleet Cell. - Liaise with Fleet Superintendents and on-board Senior Management on purchasing matters. - Coordinate supply of ship spares and stores upon authorization from relevant departments. - Manage the pick-up, storage, and last mile delivery of ship spares to vessels, maximizing consolidation opportunities. - Communicate spares shipment details to vessels and appointed agents. - Monitor and manage the progress and delivery of all orders until finalized as received on-board. - Resolve any supply discrepancies in coordination with suppliers and vessel/fleet cell advice. - Provide out-of-office hours support to vessels or Fleet Superintendents in urgent situations. Qualifications Required: - B.S. degree in business or relevant field, with previous experience in a marine purchasing role being desirable. - Effective communication and coordination skills through direct communication and electronic correspondence. - Proficient in computer skills with the ability to learn and utilize company software systems. - Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
