Fixed Asset Accountant

As a Fixed Asset Accountant, your role involves reviewing fixed asset authorizations to ensure appropriateness as capital expenditures and confirming the correct level of authority for the requested amount. You will be responsible for setting up assets in Oracle for tracking spending, identifying assets ready for service placement, and creating system records for new assets. Additionally, you will record asset disposals, transfers, and capitalizations. Your tasks will include preparing and recording fixed asset-related entries in non-Oracle general ledgers, providing physical tags and assigning numbers for newly capitalized assets, running depreciation expenses using Oracle system tools, and reconciling fixed asset subledger to the general ledger by researching and correcting differences. You will also report construction-in-process details and capital expenditures to various business units, prepare roll-forwards of fixed asset balances, and generate gain and loss reports for assets sold and disposed. Key Responsibilities: - Review fixed asset authorizations and ensure appropriateness as capital expenditures - Set up assets in Oracle for tracking spending - Identify assets ready for service placement and create system records for new assets - Record asset disposals, transfers, and capitalizations - Prepare and record fixed asset-related entries in non-Oracle general ledgers - Provide physical tags and assign numbers for newly capitalized assets - Run depreciation expenses using Oracle system tools - Reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger - Report construction-in-process details and capital expenditures to business units - Prepare roll-forwards of fixed asset balances - Generate gain and loss reports for assets sold and disposed Qualifications Required: - 5-9 years of experience - Location: Bangalore - Five years of accounting experience (US GAAP) - Knowledge of commonly used accounting/fixed asset concepts, practices, and procedures - Proficiency in Oracle Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger modules - Ability to work with limited supervision and make level-appropriate decisions - Detail-oriented with the ability to work with large spreadsheets and reconcile data from multiple sources - Ability to interact with internal customers at multiple locations - Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Outlook - Ability to meet deadlines for deliverables, especially during month-end close (first 10 business days of each month),
