Job Summary:

The Fitter will be responsible for assembly, fitting, and alignment of sheet metal components as per engineering drawings and production requirements. The role involves ensuring dimensional accuracy, maintaining quality standards, and supporting fabrication and assembly processes in the production unit.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret and work from fabrication drawings, blueprints, and sketches.

Mark, cut, bend, and fit sheet metal components for assemblies such as panels, ducts, frames, and enclosures.

Carry out fitting, drilling, grinding, and alignment operations for assembly preparation.

Assemble components using fasteners, rivets, welding supports, or mechanical joining methods.

Check and maintain dimensional accuracy using measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

Support welders, fabricators, and polishers in production activities.

Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area; ensure proper handling of tools and materials.

Identify and report non-conformities or deviations in material or workmanship to supervisors.

Assist in installation or trial assembly when required.

Adhere to company quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Skills & Competencies:

Sound knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and fitting processes.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

Skilled in use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.

Understanding of tolerances and alignment requirements.

Basic knowledge of welding, riveting, and grinding operations.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Attention to detail and focus on quality.

Qualification & Experience:

Qualification: ITI Fitter / Sheet Metal Worker / Mechanical trade certificate or equivalent.

Experience: 2–5 years in a sheet metal fabrication / modular assembly / HVAC or similar production unit.

Preferred: Experience in modular OT or cleanroom fabrication units will be an added advantage.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.

Should adhere strictly to PPE and safety guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
