Fitness Manager Role Overview

Fitness Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue & Sales (PT Upselling)

  • PT Sales Leadership:

    Convert members from General Training to Personal Training packages and drive PT revenue targets.
  • Consultation & BCA Excellence:

    Conduct high-quality consultations and Body Composition Analysis sessions to demonstrate the value of professional guidance.
  • Cross-Selling:

    Promote specialized training programs (HIIT, Strength, Yoga) and nutritional guidance.
  • Referral Generation:

    Implement Member-Get-Member programs for PT clients.

2. Team Management (PTs & GTs)

  • Performance Monitoring:

    Ensure trainers are proactive, engaging, and actively supporting members on the floor.
  • Sales Training for Staff:

    Train trainers to approach members and transition conversations into service-based sales.
  • Roster Management:

    Ensure full supervision during peak hours.

3. Member Engagement & Retention

  • BCA Call Management:

    Schedule and conduct monthly/quarterly BCA reviews to maintain engagement.
  • Success Tracking:

    Monitor member progress to support renewals and long-term retention.
  • Engagement Activities:

    Conduct floor challenges (plank challenges, max reps, etc.) to create a high-energy environment.

4. Event Coordination

  • Internal Events:

    Lead transformation challenges, goal-setting seminars, and member appreciation events.
  • External Outreach:

    Organize outdoor bootcamps, school fitness sessions, and community fitness events.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Sales Acumen:

    Strong consultative selling skills using BCA data to close deals.
  • Scientific Knowledge:

    Deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and BCA interpretation.
  • Communication Mastery:

    Explain complex fitness concepts in simple, motivating language.
  • Leadership:

    Lead by example and command respect from trainers.

Qualifications

  • Certification:

    ACE, ACSM, NASM, or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    5+ years as a Personal Trainer, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Track Record:

    Proven success in achieving Personal Training sales targets.
