Sectoral Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Stakeholder Analysis:

  Identify key stakeholders in the fisheries ecosystem and analyse their needs, challenges, and influence.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

  Develop and implement engagement plans to ensure effective communication, participation, and collaboration.

• Advocacy & Representation:

  Represent stakeholder issues and interests in discussions, consultations, and decision-making processes.

• Sector-Specific Public Relations:

  Manage communication and outreach activities related to the Fisheries sector to support awareness and policy initiatives.

• Issue Management:

  Address stakeholder concerns, facilitate dialogue, and support conflict resolution through data-driven recommendations.

• Sector Research:

  Conduct assessments, surveys, and sectoral studies to support planning and decision-making.

• Technical Consultation:

  Provide expert advisory on fisheries policies, aquaculture development, sustainability practices, and sector best practices.

• Reporting & Documentation:

  Prepare reports, briefs, concept notes, and communication material related to fisheries sector engagement.

Essential Requirements (Mandatory)

• Post-Graduate Degree (Full-time, 2 years)

  in:
• Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Marine Engineering, Fisheries Resource Management, Fishery Technology, Zoology (with specialization in Fisheries), or related Allied fields.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

  in:
• Stakeholder engagement, need assessment, fisheries development, aquaculture programs, policy advisory, or sectoral consultancy.
• Strong understanding of fisheries value chains, field operations, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Hindi.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

• Experience working with government departments, development agencies, or fisheries boards.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices, marine ecology, and community-based fisheries management.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills.
