skilled Firmware/Embedded QA Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Test and validate
embedded firmware
and its integration with hardware components.
Perform
device-to-app
,
device-to-cloud
, and
OTA update
validation.
Work with IoT communication protocols:
Zigbee, BLE, Wi-Fi, MQTT, HTTP
, etc.
Validate
REST APIs
using tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar.
Execute tests for
cloud platforms
(Azure IoT, AWS IoT Core).
Develop basic test automation scripts in
Python, Shell, or Bash
.
Log defects, track issues, and work closely with development teams for closure.
Conduct
performance, stress, reliability
, and regression testing.
Validate mobile companion app functionalities related to device onboarding, control, and sync.
Create and maintain
test plans, test cases, and QA documentation
.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in
Electronics/Electrical (ECE/EEE)
or related technical field.
24 years
of hands-on experience in Firmware/Embedded or IoT testing roles.
Strong knowledge of
embedded firmware testing
, hardware-software interaction, and debugging.
Experience with IoT connectivity testing (BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi).
Hands-on experience with
API testing
, scripting, and troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with
OTA processes
, cloud sync, and mobile app integration testing.
Understanding of
Agile practices
, test frameworks, and QA documentation standards.
Exposure to
home automation, consumer electronics, or IoT ecosystems
.
Experience with
protocol analyzers
, sniffers, or logic analyzers.
