Job Purpose

The Fire Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring fire detection and fire-fighting systems to ensure safety of life and property within the mall. The role requires continuous vigilance, quick response, and strict adherence to fire safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor fire alarm systems, panels, and control room equipment
• Operate fire-fighting systems such as sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, and extinguishers
• Conduct regular inspection and testing of fire safety equipment
• Respond immediately to fire alarms and emergency situations
• Coordinate with security team and local fire department during incidents
• Maintain fire safety logs, checklists, and daily reports
• Assist in fire drills, mock drills, and evacuation exercises
• Ensure fire exits, staircases, and escape routes are clear at all times
• Report system faults, hazards, or non-compliance to seniors
• Support compliance with statutory fire and safety regulations

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of fire detection and fire-fighting systems
• Ability to operate fire control panels and emergency systems
• Calm and alert under emergency situations
• Good coordination and communication skills
• Discipline, responsibility, and safety-first mindset

Qualification & Certification

• Minimum 10+2 / ITI preferred
• Fire & Safety Certification from recognized institute (mandatory)
• Valid Fire Operator license (as applicable under local norms)
• Experience in mall / hotel / hospital / large commercial property preferred
