Finance Controller

Role & responsibilities:

The Finance Controller will own the end-to-end finance function, ensuring robust financial
stewardship, process excellence, and regulatory compliance for a dynamic B2C organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, proven leadership, and hands-on expertise in Indian financial regulations and filings.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including AR/AP, payroll, invoicing, revenue
  recognition, and reconciliations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company
  assets and ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, Companies Act, etc.).
• Lead monthly and yearly financial close, prepare and publish timely financial
  statements, and management reports.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting external audits, and
  driving all direct and indirect tax filings.
• Drive financial planning processes, including annual budgets, periodic forecasts,
  variance analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Act as a proactive business partner, providing insights to the leadership team for
  decision-making, cost optimization, and strategic growth.
• Champion process improvements, automation, and adoption of best practices across
  finance and accounting operations.
• Handle statutory and regulatory returns, liaison with external auditors, banks,
  consultants, and government agencies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of finance and accounts professionals,
  fostering growth and accountability

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional degree; MBA (Finance) is a plus. 6+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, ideally in a B2C environment of similar scale. Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, income tax, GST, FEMA, and Companies Act. Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, planning, audits, statutory filings, and process improvement. Proficient with ERP/accounting software, Excel, and MIS reporting tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
