Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring safety guidelines are followed including the PTW system. This will involve switching from automatic to manual controls and isolating equipment mechanically and electrically to allow for safe execution of repair work as per the NOMAC permit to work system. Your duties will also include monitoring work as per the permit to work system, ensuring all safety precautions are taken, and being responsible for confined space gas testing and fire watching. You will provide first-line support to report and initially extinguish fires, as well as respond to other emergency and critical occurrences, keeping the CCR informed at all times. Additionally, you will manually operate valves, dampers, and equipment, report unsafe conditions and acts in the field to the competent authority, and adhere to SOPs and operating instructions. Ensuring the health and safety of working professionals during maintenance jobs will be a key aspect of your role. Some of your tasks will include monitoring and reporting thermal power plant process parameters, conducting operation shift work activities such as monitoring and recording local parameters, and observing equipment conditions for abnormalities, vibrations, heat, etc., and reporting to the desk operator. You will also be required to perform other duties as assigned from time to time, ensure housekeeping and cleanliness, and comply with all statutory and environmental norms. It is important to note that while performing your duties, you will be working in close proximity to moving mechanical plant/equipment and may be required to work outside in all weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but you may need to work in high noise level conditions regularly. Additionally, you may be required to work at remote locations and be ready to work with H2/CO2/NG/N2 filling/purging, Ammonia tanker unloading, and Electrochlorination system activities. Qualifications required for this role include having a minimum of 2 years of experience as a field operator in a thermal power plant. Additionally, you should be willing to travel to the UAE for this position.
