Position Title: Field Officer

Location: Jhabua District, Madhya Pradesh

Duration: 11 Months (Likely to be extended)

Reports To: Project Officer

Position Summary

The Field Officer will be responsible for on-ground implementation of all project activities in Jhabua district. As the primary field-level representative, the role includes coordination with school authorities, community stakeholders, teachers and local government functionaries. The Field Officer ensures smooth delivery of awareness activities, trainings, infrastructure installation follow-up, data collection, documentation and mobilization for community sessions.

About the Project

Project SHE (Sanitation, Health and Empowerment) is an integrated adolescent health initiative designed to improve menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, nutrition and anaemia prevention among tribal adolescents in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh. The project will directly reach school-going adolescents, parents, teachers and community members through a structured blend of awareness generation, behaviour change communication, infrastructure support and institutional strengthening. The project also aims to strengthen convergence with government schemes such as RKSK, WIFS and IFA distribution, ensuring improved access to adolescent health services. Grounded in participatory methods and culturally contextualized IEC material in Hindi and Bhili, Project SHE seeks to create an enabling environment in tribal schools and communities - promoting dignity, health and long-term sustainability for continued menstrual hygiene support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with District Officials, school principals, nodal teachers and school management committees/ parent teacher association for identifying machine installation points.

2. Support technical teams during installation and ensure proper demonstration and testing.

3. Check the functioning of vending machines and incinerators periodically and coordinate repairs where needed.

4. Facilitate school-based awareness sessions as per the project requirement.

5. Organize and facilitate training sessions for teachers, students and peer educators.

6. Provide follow-up support to ensure sustainability of trained groups.

7. Conduct community sensitization sessions with mothers, parents, community leaders, and frontline workers.

8. Address cultural barriers and mobilize community support for adolescent girls’ menstrual hygiene.

9. Maintain project data records and monthly progress reports for all school and community activities.

10. Capture data related to sanitary pad distribution, machine maintenance, session participation and awareness impact.

11. Document success stories, photographs, case studies and testimonials from the field.

12. Work with local government, health officials, ASHAs, AWWs, school teachers and panchayat representatives to ensure convergence.

13. Facilitate the organization of final dissemination and convergence workshop.

14. Ensure visibility and placement of IEC materials including posters, wall paintings, recipes charts and demonstration materials.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Public Health, or related fields.

- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in field implementation, preferably in school-based programs, WASH, MHM, adolescent health, or community mobilization.

- Experience working in tribal regions, especially of Madhya Pradesh (Jhabua district) and with government frontline workers is desirable.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.

- Comfortable working with adolescents, school staff and community groups.

- Basic documentation, reporting and data management skills.

- Ability to travel extensively within Jhabua district.

- Language proficiency in Hindi; Bhili knowledge will be an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
