  • Interpret logs using tools such as

    CANoe, CANalyzer, esoTrace, INCA

    , or proprietary loggers.
  • Identify anomalies, protocol violations, unexpected ECU behaviors, and communication deviations.
  • Evaluate timing patterns, bus load, signal behavior, and timestamp alignment.

2. Fault Identification & Debugging

  • Perform

    root-cause pre-analysis

by isolating events, signals, and communication sequences.
  • Detect issues such as timeouts, communication drops, incorrect diagnostic responses, or SW crashes.
  • Reproduce reported issues in controlled setups when required.
  • Work closely with development teams to identify root causes across ECU software, hardware, or network configurations.

3. Ticket Creation & Error Reporting

  • Create

    high-quality, structured defect tickets

in Jira or KPM with logs, context, reproduction steps, and detailed analysis.
  • Clearly describe expected vs. actual behavior and attach relevant trace segments.
  • Ensure correct categorization, severity assignment, and owner allocation.
  • Track defects through closure and support developers with retesting.

4. Test Incident Documentation

  • Document incidents, anomalies, and unexpected behavior with well-structured evidence.
  • Maintain traceability between issues, test cases, and execution results.
  • Prepare summary reports for recurring failures, stability issues, or critical bugs.

5. Support for Debug Sessions

  • Participate in debugging sessions with developers and system engineers.
  • Provide filtered logs, event timelines, and analysis insights.
  • Perform validation tests after software fixes or integration updates.
