Failure Analysis Engineer - X-ray Computed Tomography

Role Overview: You will be joining the Failure Analysis Team in Bangalore, responsible for root cause failure analysis across all Apple Hardware products and advanced material characterisation to guide design and process changes. Your role will involve performing failure analysis using X-ray imaging, Computed Tomography (CT), and other non-destructive imaging techniques to determine the root cause of failures. Additionally, you will be optimizing X-ray CT scan parameters for various consumer electronic products, sub-assemblies, and components to ensure the best data quality and resolution while enhancing throughput. Your responsibilities will include developing innovative methods to aid in failure analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams, driving corrective actions, and providing technical updates to upper management. Key Responsibilities: - Perform failure analysis using X-ray imaging, CT, and non-destructive imaging techniques - Optimize X-ray CT scan parameters for consumer electronic products to enhance data quality and resolution - Develop innovative methods to improve failure analysis processes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions - Provide technical updates to upper management Qualifications Required: - Preferred Qualifications: - PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline - 10+ years of hands-on experience in operating Industrial CT systems - Exposure to Failure Analysis in Consumer Electronics - Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) with knowledge of AERB regulations - Experience in mentoring and managing Jr. Engineers and/or technicians - Minimum Qualifications: - Masters degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline - Strong understanding of X-ray CT principles and machine operation - 5+ years of experience in operating Industrial CT systems with Level 1/2 AERB certification - Knowledge of material X-ray interaction to optimize scan parameters - Experience with data acquisition and analysis software - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively - Adaptability to fast-changing environments and ability to prioritize tasks - Willingness to collaborate closely across organizations and work in a fast-paced environment,
