Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator and Welder to join our manufacturing team specializing in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for airport operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding structural components used in equipment such as baggage carts, aircraft towbars, maintenance stands, dollies, and other GSE. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and experience with heavy steel and aluminum fabrication. Key Responsibilities: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine fabrication requirements. Cut, fit, position, aMetal preparation and fabrication require tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, shears, brakes, and sawsnd weld metal components to assemble structural forms and GSE components. Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Use tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, shears, brakes, and saws for metal preparation and fabrication. Operate fabrication machinery such as CNC plasma tables, drill presses, and manual lathes as needed. Inspect and verify weld quality and structural integrity in accordance with applicable standards and procedures. Perform layout work and precise measuring to ensure dimensional accuracy. Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues. Follow safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Assist in the final assembly of GSE units as needed. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or welding school preferred. Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding, ideally in manufacturing or heavy equipment. Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding; Stick welding a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings. Strong understanding of welding symbols, tolerances, and material properties. Skilled in the use of fabrication hand tools and shop equipment. Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in manufacturing Ground Support Equipment or similar heavy-duty products. AWS or equivalent welding certifications. Knowledge of airport safety and equipment standards (e.g., SAE, IATA, or ISO). Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.
