Description
As a Staff at EY, you'll have the opportunity to define new procedures and controls to enhance the operational risk process. Your role will involve driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget, executing detailed procedures related to fund controllership, investment books and records, and financial reporting processes. You will also be responsible for performing critical accounting activities such as capital calls, valuations, and transaction processing. Additionally, you will identify, evaluate, and suggest new technology opportunities for platform enablement in WAM/BCM space, facilitating necessary conversations between Business and Technology. Your responsibilities will include: - Defining new procedures and controls to enhance the overall operational risk process - Driving high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget - Executing detailed procedures based on knowledge of fund controllership, investment books and records, and financial reporting processes - Performing critical accounting activities, including capital calls, valuations, and transaction processing - Identifying, evaluating, and suggesting new technology opportunities for platform enablement in WAM/BCM space - Facilitating necessary conversations between Business and Technology to determine product features - Collaborating with business and architects to translate business requirements into scalable solution options and provide inputs to product roadmap/strategy Qualifications required for this position: - 1-3 years of experience in the Asset management sector, exposure to US based asset management or fund administration firm will be an addon - Experience with software tools including document management systems, workflow systems, partnership accounting, investment accounting such as eFront, Investran, or other investment sub-ledger software / Eagle - Experience in financial statement reporting/analysis - Proficiency in Fund accounting and financial reporting, Investment accounting, financial statement close process, regulatory and statutory reporting, management and financial reporting, consolidation reporting, advanced data readiness and analytics, governance, controls, and regulation - Masters degree in accounting or finance will be an added benefit - Strong understanding of the financial industry with fund accounting, expense reporting, tax reporting, asset types, and derivatives - Functional knowledge in financial instruments and exposure to banking/WAM domains - Understanding of financial products and services, especially private equity funds - Experience related to fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or fund - General understanding of US GAAP and regulatory requirements - Experience in operational aspects like NAV finalization, reconciliations, management reporting, and investor reporting - Crisp and effective executive communication skills, including significant experience presenting cross-functionally and across all levels - Understanding of the applications used in the FA or reporting process - Understanding BRD would be an added advantage - Experience in financial statements is a plus Additional details of the company: EY exists to build a better working world, helping to create long-term value for clients, people, and society, and build trust in the capital markets.
